1.1“Ye te, bhikkhave, bhikkhū adhammaṁ adhammoti dīpenti te, bhikkhave, bhikkhū bahujanahitāya paṭipannā bahujanasukhāya, bahuno janassa atthāya hitāya sukhāya devamanussānaṁ.
"Those bhikkhus, bhikkhus, who illuminate non-dhamma as non-dhamma — those bhikkhus, bhikkhus, are practicing for the welfare of the many, for the happiness of the many, for the benefit, welfare, and happiness of the many, of gods and humans.
1.2Bahuñca te, bhikkhave, bhikkhū puññaṁ pasavanti, te cimaṁ saddhammaṁ ṭhapentī”ti.
And those bhikkhus, bhikkhus, generate much merit, and they uphold this true dhamma."

"Those bhikkhus, bhikkhus, who illuminate non-vinaya as non-vinaya … who illuminate vinaya as vinaya … who illuminate what was not spoken or uttered by the Tathāgata as not spoken or uttered by the Tathāgata … who illuminate what was spoken and uttered by the Tathāgata as spoken and uttered by the Tathāgata … who illuminate what was not practiced by the Tathāgata as not practiced by the Tathāgata … who illuminate what was practiced by the Tathāgata as practiced by the Tathāgata … who illuminate what was not prescribed by the Tathāgata as not prescribed by the Tathāgata … who illuminate what was prescribed by the Tathāgata as prescribed by the Tathāgata;
