1.1“Ye te, bhikkhave, bhikkhū anāpattiṁ āpattīti dīpenti te, bhikkhave, bhikkhū bahujanaahitāya paṭipannā bahujanaasukhāya, bahuno janassa anatthāya ahitāya dukkhāya devamanussānaṁ.

1.1"Those bhikkhus, bhikkhus, who declare a non-offense to be an offense are practicing for the harm of many, for the non-sukha of many, for the harm, hurt, and dukkha of many people, of gods and humans.

1.2Bahuñca te, bhikkhave, bhikkhū apuññaṁ pasavanti, te cimaṁ saddhammaṁ antaradhāpentī”ti.

1.2And those bhikkhus, bhikkhus, generate much demerit; they cause this true dhamma to disappear."
