20. The Seventh Chapter
1.1“Etadaggaṁ, bhikkhave, mama sāvikānaṁ upāsikānaṁ paṭhamaṁ saraṇaṁ gacchantīnaṁ yadidaṁ sujātā seniyadhītā.
"This is the foremost, bhikkhus, among my female disciple lay women who first went for refuge — namely, Sujātā, the daughter of Seniya.
1.1… Dāyikānaṁ yadidaṁ visākhā migāramātā.
… Among donors — namely, Visākhā, Migāra's mother.
1.1… Bahussutānaṁ yadidaṁ khujjuttarā.
… Among those of great learning — namely, Khujjuttarā.
1.1… Mettāvihārīnaṁ yadidaṁ sāmāvatī.
… Among those who dwell in mettā — namely, Sāmāvatī.
1.1… Jhāyīnaṁ yadidaṁ uttarānandamātā.
… Among meditators — namely, Uttarā, Nanda's mother.
1.1… Paṇītadāyikānaṁ yadidaṁ suppavāsā koliyadhītā.
… Among those who offer excellent gifts — namely, Suppavāsā, the daughter of the Koliyas.
1.1… Gilānupaṭṭhākīnaṁ yadidaṁ suppiyā upāsikā.
… Among those who attend on the sick — namely, the lay woman Suppiyā.
1.1… Aveccappasannānaṁ yadidaṁ kātiyānī.
… Among those with confirmed confidence — namely, Kātiyānī.
1.1… Vissāsikānaṁ yadidaṁ nakulamātā gahapatānī.
… Among those who are intimate — namely, Nakulamātā, the householder's wife.
1.1… Anussavappasannānaṁ yadidaṁ kāḷī upāsikā kuraragharikā”ti.
… Among those with confidence through oral tradition — namely, the lay woman Kāḷī of Kuraraghara."
