1.1“Nāhaṁ, bhikkhave, aññaṁ ekadhammampi samanupassāmi yaṁ evaṁ adantaṁ mahato anatthāya saṁvattati yathayidaṁ, bhikkhave, cittaṁ.
"I do not see, bhikkhus, any other single thing that, when untamed, leads to such great harm as this — the mind [citta].
1.2Cittaṁ, bhikkhave, adantaṁ mahato anatthāya saṁvattatī”ti.
The mind [citta], bhikkhus, when untamed, leads to great harm."

The mind [citta], bhikkhus, when unguarded, leads to great harm."

The mind [citta], bhikkhus, when protected, leads to great benefit."
